An absolutely stunning reference from Chopard, the L.U.C. Strike One brings a perfect mixture of aesthetics, functionality, and complication. The ruthenium dial made of solid gold features a hand-guilloche’d dial with honeycomb motif along with solid gold indices and hands. The black polished hammer strikes at the top of every hour against a monobloc sapphire gong with a minute track printed directly on to its surface. A pusher integrated into the crown allows for the muting of the striking mechanism coordinated with a small aperture located above the Chopard logo at 12 o’clock. The aperture shows white when the watch is allowed to strike and ruthenium for the quiet moments.
Reverse side you have a highly hand finished movement which has obtained the Poinçon de Genève hallmark for quality. The movement is powered by a 22k solid gold micro-rotor with 65 hours of reserve.
In my opinion this is an absolutely complete watch. I love everything about it all the way down to the strap. The striking tone is lovely and I truly enjoy case and crown proportions and fit on the wrist.
